Women Livelihood Program (WLP)

Objective

To ensure that women are financially independent and have increased access to income and employment opportunities.

Goal

To secure the livelihoods of women-led households.

Activity 1

To provide livestock, seeds, and necessary financial support for short-term and small-scale farming activities.

Activity 2

To support eco-friendly activities such as eco-printing, soap and oil making, snack production, and natural composting by offering technical assistance and necessary materials.

Activity 3

To implement village-level financial support and awareness programs related to community-based management.

Activity 4

To continue supporting traditional handicrafts, such as hand-weaving, by providing technical assistance, essential resources, and materials.

Activity 5

To expand weaving enterprises to produce high-quality, modern products that meet current market standards.

Karenni National Women's Organization (KNWO) is a non-profit community-based organization. KNWO was founded in 1993 by Karenni women who fled to Thailand seeking asylum from Myanmar's brutal military regime.
