Emergency Humanitarian Aid Response Project

Objective

The purpose of the emergency response is to ensure that women and girls, who are among the most vulnerable in Karenni State, receive humanitarian assistance with dignity and in accordance with their human rights.

Goal

When political, economic, social, or natural disaster-related issues arise in the region, special attention will be given to the protection and safeguarding of women and children.

Activity 1

Women, girls, and vulnerable groups will be provided with hygiene kits, dignity kits, and other basic necessities.

Activity 2

Advocacy will be carried out to ensure that at least 30% of women are included in decision-making roles within IDP camp committees.

Activity 3

Awareness-raising activities will be conducted regarding gender-based exploitation and abuse (PSEA) policies following humanitarian principles.

Activity 4

In the long term, women-led agricultural and livestock initiatives will be implemented in connection with livelihood programs under the recovery and rehabilitation plans.

Activity 5

Psychosocial support will be made available for women and girls in the refugee camps and IDP camps inside Karenni State and along the Thai-Burma border.
